Our guards are just as crooked as your crimes. They’ll check you in, hand out your prison-issue jumpsuits, and assist with smuggling in your contraband… as long as you keep them on your side.
The Warden’s always on the lookout, hunting for any contraband. You’ll need sharp ideas, quick distractions, and fast thinking to stay one step ahead at all times. With a little teamwork, you could be running the block by the time your sentence is up.

The Warden has made the external janitorial team redundant and has off-loaded the task to the inmates. Whilst it may appear this individual draws the short straw, it may just be they have the key to help all the inmates escape once and for all.
The Mole
Perfect for those looking to get a little more out of their immersive experience. Includes your own unique storyline path. Your identity will help build some relationships and destroy others, so choose wisely who to reveal this to. Remember, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
The Escape Artist
Perfect for those looking to get a little more out of their immersive experience. Includes your own costume piece used throughout the show. Having successfully broken out of their last three Penitentiaries the Warden will be keeping a watchful eye on this person but there may also be some inmates who are interested in their particular set of skills.
Not every date needs to involve drinking; Alcotraz is perfect for those who like a tippler and teetotalers alike. Because we’re so much more than a bar – offering an immersive and theatrical experience that everyone can enjoy, and that you won’t find anywhere else.

What do I wear to Alcotraz?
For processing and conviction, we recommend that you wear light clothing as you will be required to wear a standard-issue Alcotraz orange jumpsuit (provided) for the duration of your stay.
How long will I spend at Alcotraz Cardiff?
Your experience will last 1 hour 45 minutes, and inmates will be provided with their own orange jumpsuit for the duration of their time behind bars.
What size jumpsuits do you provide?
Our prison-issued Alcotraz jumpsuits come in sizes ranging from XS to 4XL, ensuring a fit for all inmates. The rules are flexible when it comes to how you wear your jumpsuit, so feel free to style it as you like, such as tying the arms around your waist.
Do we share a cell with others?
If attending as a couple we will do our best to ensure that you are kept separate from others but on occasion this is not always possible and there is a chance that you may end up within the same cell as another couple or small group.
Is alcohol included?
Inmates are tasked with smuggling in their own liquor – one bottle per inmate, no matter the size – though cocktail mixers are provided on-site. If you’re after a sober date night, feel free to sneak in some alcohol-free drinks or skip the smuggling altogether.
What alcohol can I bring with me?
The seasoned inmates you’ll meet behind bars are actually skilled mixologists, and they craft their best cocktails with smuggled spirits. However, if you or your date prefer wine or beer, you can sneak that in as well… if you can get it past the Warden.
Is food provided?
Food is not provided during your immersive date night at Alcotraz, unless you’re exclusively hiring the venue for a party of 30 or more. But honestly, who would want prison slop anyway?
Is there a drinks reception?
Oh, it gets even better! Our cell block features a hidden bar with expert cocktail makers, ready to serve you and your date, tailoring drinks to your exact preferences. And, if you’re not into alcohol, don’t worry – we’ve got delicious mocktail recipes for your smuggled-in alcohol-free drinks (if you decide to bring anything at all).
Can I book Alcotraz for another occasion?
Totally! Alcotraz Cardiff isn’t just perfect for date night activities – we also lock up Hens, Stags, birthdays, Christmas parties and even entire companies! It’s the ultimate adventure for a night out.
What if I don't drink?
Not a drinker? No problem! The Alcotraz experience is just as exciting for non-drinkers. A big part of the fun is the immersive storyline unfolding around you, with plenty of opportunities to engage with the plot and actors. If you’re skipping the liquor, there’s no need to smuggle anything in – just enjoy four expertly crafted mocktails, all included in the ticket price!
Is Alcotraz Cardiff wheelchair-accessible?
Our Cardiff Cell Block, whilst accessible, does not have a wheelchair-accessible toilet. If you’re attending with a wheelchair user, please contact us after your booking with your booking number.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Unfortunately we are unable to refund or cancel bookings, however, it is possible to move your booking to another day if we are given appropriate notice depending on your group size. If your group is 5 or less, please provide 48 hours notice prior to your visit. If your group is 6 or more, please provide 96 hours notice prior to your visit. Any purchases made individually will be treated as part of the wider group that they were looking to attend with. If you happen to make your booking within this time period then unfortunately an exchange is not possible. If the appropriate notice applies to your group size then please email thewarden@alcotraz.co.uk to complete an exchange.
