It all starts with your mission to smuggle your liquor of choice behind the bars of Alcotraz; get your contraband past the Warden and into the hands of the cocktail making convicts in the kitchen.
You and your fellow fugitives – ahem, we mean colleagues – will be escorted to your cell and offered bespoke cocktails made from your smuggled booze. Your “serving” mixologists will be delighted to serve equally delicious mocktails too!
Even if drinking isn’t your thing, there’s plenty to get involved in with fun missions and personalised plot lines that completely incorporate you and your hard work into the story. So, ditch the icebreakers and traditional team building activities – your next work do just got criminal.
The whole point of getting the team out of the office and into an activity is to get everyone to bond and interact – and Alcotraz does just that! Drinkers and teetotalers, wallflowers and budding actors alike, there’s a way for everyone to take part in Alcotraz – we’re not all about the booze.
A unique team building experience
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be drawn into the immersive world that is Alcotraz Liverpool. Guards – each of them trained actors – will check you in for your stay and hand you one of our standard issue jumpsuits, and lead you to your highly realistic jail cell. Everyone else you see from then on – the Warden, the mole and even our mixologists – are all actors, dedicated to giving you a team building experience like no other.

Whether you want to stay in your cell and get to know your colleagues a little better, or you want to leap into character and be part of a plot to overthrow the Warden, or take part in a little team bonding activities, you won’t find anywhere else that gives you so much variety.

Looking for a private hire?
Feel like rioting through Alcotraz just you and your gang? If you’re heading through the metal detectors with a group over 30 we recommend privately hiring the whole prison to yourselves. Not only does this give you run of the place, it also unlocks pre-arranged liquor and prison pizza rations. Find more information on Private Hire below. The Warden apologises, but there are no options for private hire on Saturday at any time.
For an immersive theatrical experience and four bespoke cocktails. Upgrade to “The Associate” for a Prison Record Card souvenir with your photo, or go all-in with “The Boss” for canteen sweets and a branded Alcotraz mug. Some perks are worth the extra time.

The Janitor
Perfect for those looking to stitch up one of their gang. Includes your own costume pieces during the show. The Warden has made the external janitorial team redundant and has off-loaded the task to the inmates. Whilst it may appear this individual draws the short straw, it may just be they have the key to help all the inmates escape once and for all.
The Mole
Perfect for those looking to get a little more out of their immersive experience. Includes your own unique storyline path. Your identity will help build some relationships and destroy others, so choose wisely who to reveal this to. Remember, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
The Escape Artist
Perfect for those looking to get a little more out of their immersive experience. Includes your own costume piece used throughout the show. Having successfully broken out of their last three Penitentiaries the Warden will be keeping a watchful eye on this person but there may also be some inmates who are interested in their particular set of skills.
What do I wear to Alcotraz?
For processing and conviction, we recommend that you wear light clothing as you will be required to wear a standard-issue Alcotraz orange jumpsuit (provided) for the duration of your stay.
How long will I spend at Alcotraz Liverpool?
Your experience will last 1 hour 45 minutes, and inmates will be provided with their own orange jumpsuit for the duration of their time behind bars.
What size jumpsuits do you provide?
Our standard-issue Alcotraz jumpsuits cater to all inmates, with sizes ranging from XS to 4XL. Please note that you are free to wear your jumpsuit as you wish to make it more comfortable, such as tying the arms around your waist.
What alcohol can I bring with me?
The inmates you come across behind bars are highly skilled mixologists, and they work best with smuggled spirits. But, if you prefer wine or beer, this can also be served to you… If you can get it past the Warden.
Can I bring opened bottles of alcohol?
Alcotraz operates a closed bottle policy, meaning we will not accept any bottles previously opened. Please only bring new, unopened and sealed bottles.
How many drinks are included?
Inmates get approximately 4 personalised cocktails delivered by our expert mixologists, using the liquor you smuggle in with you. All liqueurs, bitters, syrups and other ingredients that go into making your cocktails are included in the ticket price, so all you need to bring is the liquor of your choice.
What if I don't drink?
If drinking isn’t your thing, don’t worry. The Alcotraz experience is exactly the same for non-drinkers as a huge part of your time behind bars is the immersive storyline that unfolds around you where you can interact with the storylines and the actors. For those not drinking liquor, there is no need to smuggle anything in and instead, you will receive x 4 expertly crafted mocktails included within the ticket price!
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Unfortunately we are unable to refund or cancel bookings, however, it is possible to move your booking to another day if we are given appropriate notice depending on your group size. If your group is 5 or less, please provide 48 hours notice prior to your visit. If your group is 6 or more, please provide 96 hours notice prior to your visit. Any purchases made individually will be treated as part of the wider group that they were looking to attend with. If you happen to make your booking within this time period then unfortunately an exchange is not possible. If the appropriate notice applies to your group size then please email thewarden@alcotraz.co.uk to complete an exchange.
Is Alcotraz Liverpool wheelchair-accessible?
